It's Wednesday and we are tracking another system... This one though will be rather weak for our area.
FutureCAST shows a large High pressure sitting south of the avalon through today and tonight, this will help us stay rather dry and chilly. Snow ahead of a fast moving system will spread over central, but high pressure will keeps us dry through tomorrow morning as it keeps the bulk of the moisture to the west over central Newfoundland..
Now as we get into late morning tomorrow around 10 and 11am that low is south of Port-aux-Basques and that will bring a mixture of light snow, ice pellets and rain showers by early afternoon as the low moves over central Newfoundland, now late morning and early afternoon the preciptitation looks to stay north of the metro, so the airport, CBS and perhaps downtown will see this but paradise to Mount Pearl will likely stay dry until afternoon when showers arrive.
Showers taper off and moves offshore by Tomorrow night and we eye on another storm for Friday , but as of now it doea look like it will stay far offshore being blocked by a cold front.
Then as we get into the weekend, high pressure still in control, but a trough will come down from quebec Saturday night into early Sunday morning to spread some snow to the metro areas, as of now it still to soon to say how much but the snkw ends by mid morning and that sets us up for sunshine and clouds through early next week with rather chilly temps.

Notice the big temperature difference between 12am and 3am! That is because of a major wind shift, increasing clouds warms the atmosphere at night and acts like a blanket and winds become south east at 20 gusting to 40, winds will be light most of the evening and that helps cold air to drop to the surface quickly, but as the low nears and clouds thicken, winds shift to the south east and will gust to 40km/h and that will mix the air, rising the temps quickly.
